Position SummaryThe Tax Manager will lead a team responsible for tax reporting, compliance, and distribution planning across a complex portfolio of investment vehicles. This individual will serve as a key tax subject matter expert, providing guidance around the tax treatment of securities, investment transactions, and corporate actions while ensuring accurate and timely reporting and compliance.
The role partners extensively across Operations, Fund Accounting, Legal, Compliance, and external service providers and will play an important leadership role in improving processes, strengthening controls, and enhancing the scalability of the tax function.

Key Responsibilities- Lead the team responsible for tax reporting, compliance, and distribution planning across the organization's investment vehicles.
- Oversee complex tax analyses and ensure accurate and timely tax reporting and regulatory compliance.
- Provide technical guidance regarding the tax treatment of securities, investment transactions, corporate actions, and other investment activity.
- Oversee tax-related distribution planning and analysis across investment products.
- Partner closely with Operations, Fund Accounting, Legal, Compliance, and other internal stakeholders on tax matters.
- Manage relationships and deliverables with external tax providers and other third-party partners.
- Provide tax guidance and recommendations to senior stakeholders and cross-functional business partners.
- Identify opportunities to strengthen controls, streamline processes, and improve the scalability and efficiency of tax operations.
- Lead strategic initiatives and organizational change impacting tax reporting and operational processes.
- Develop, coach, and retain a high-performing tax team while fostering strong collaboration across the broader organization.
- 10+ years of progressive tax experience within investment management, financial services, public accounting, or a related environment.
- 5+ years of people leadership experience with demonstrated success developing and leading high-performing teams.
- Deep knowledge of tax reporting, compliance, and distribution planning within an investment or financial services environment.
- Strong understanding of the tax treatment of securities, investment transactions, and corporate actions.
- Demonstrated ability to interpret complex tax matters and translate them into practical business and operational guidance.
- Experience leading process improvement, strategic initiatives, and organizational change.
- Strong communication and executive presence with the ability to influence senior stakeholders and collaborate across multiple functions.
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Tax, Finance, Business, Economics, or a related discipline required.
- CPA and/or Master's in Taxation strongly preferred.
