The position is a Clinical Pharmacist – Generalist on our acute care pharmacy team, delivering optimal medication management across all dimensions of care, 1:00 pm–9:30 pm, every 4th weekend.

Essential Functions- Facilitates pharmaceutical care services and medication utilization systems within assigned services and care areas, ensuring drug utilization activities align with patient care needs, evidence‑based best practices, and regulatory standards.
- Completes critical patient monitoring and reviews patient profiles/charts to identify, prevent, or mitigate drug‑related problems.
- Partners as an active member of a multidisciplinary team and collaborates with healthcare providers within decentralized patient care areas to provide patient‑centered care.
- Makes appropriate evidence‑based, patient‑centered medication recommendations.
- Participates in the management of medical emergencies.
- Provides discharge medication review, reconciliation, and counseling as appropriate.
- Maintains proficiency in and actively engages in central dispensing functions and operational programs.
- Oversees pharmacy operations and technician practice/activities.
- Maintains proficiency in preceptor roles and actively emulates education/mentorship skills.
- 8 Magnet‑designated hospitals and Leap Frog Grade “A” ratings at Novant Health facilities.

- Education
:
Bachelor’s Degree in Pharmacy with FPGEC certification required;
Pharm
D preferred. - Experience
:- Postgraduate year 1 residency or fellowship, OR two years as a registered pharmacist in health‑system pharmacy; oncology experience preferred for oncology roles.
- ASHP accredited PGY2 Infectious Disease residency OR 2 years of equivalent clinical pharmacy experience in infectious diseases/antimicrobial stewardship.
- Licensure/Certification
:- Current pharmacy licensure in the appropriate state(s) or completion within 30 days of start date by examination or reciprocity.
- Board of Pharmacy Specialties certification or other approved certification obtained and continuously maintained within 2 years of start date.
- Additional Skills
:
Ability to drive/travel to multiple facilities, work as part of a high‑performing, change‑ready and resilient team.
