** This Opportunity:
** The primary responsibility of the Behavioral Health Technician, Child Crisis is to provide care to individuals and families who receive services through a Crisis Program.#
** What You'll Do:*
* • Provide care to individuals receiving services in a manner that ensures safety, client’s rights, confidentiality, comfort, dignity and a therapeutic environment.  
• Carry out functions that contribute to the effectiveness and safety of the unit including crisis intervention, taking vital signs, observation of individuals receiving services.  
• Demonstrate responsible for maintaining inventory supplies and make appropriate requisitions.  
• Ensure an environment conducive to recovery consistent with SRMH/DD/SAS and Crisis Services philosophy and best practice.  
• Respect the rights of individuals receiving services to make choices within the available parameters and make every effort to follow the individuals receiving services crisis plan.  
• Work with clients and families and other team members to ensure the crisis stabilization unit provides individuals receiving services with a safe and supportive environment consistent with recovery concepts and person-centered planning.  
• Coordinate and/or implement skilled level activities involving the care, treatment, and training of individuals receiving services on the crisis unit.  
• Ensure that the individuals receiving services maintain appropriate personal hygiene, perform activities of daily living and receive the proper nutrition.  
• Assist with self-help skills as necessary and keep supervisor informed of the condition of individuals receiving services.  
• Prepare written reports (vital signs, census reports, incident reports for example) as necessary.  
• Utilize the treatment plan as developed by the nursing staff and/or the substance abuse specialist.  
• Supervise individuals receiving services in the activities of daily living, encouraging individuals receiving services to display independence and responsibility for self.  
• Enforce limits on individuals' behavior using established policies, procedures and rules.  
• Secure and relay information used by professionals for the admission, discharge and transfer of individuals receiving services.  
• Observe individuals receiving services for changes in physical and mental conditions, reporting those to professional staff.  
• Monitor and document food intake during mealtime and snack time.  
• Assist in group educational sessions and/or activities as assigned for individuals receiving services at the facility under supervision.  
• Attend and actively participate in meetings and training as required. Maintain certification in all agency, state and federal training requirements.  
• Demonstrate knowledge of and comply with all agency policies and procedures, as well as state and federal statutes and regulations related to specific program areas.  
• Demonstrate knowledge of emergency procedures and assist in crisis situations.  
• Complete all other relevant responsibilities as assigned by the supervisor.  
• Drive and travel as required.## #
