Major Responsibilities
Keep abreast of current skills and developments in the field of ultrasound.
Instruct and help students or fellow technologists orienting in ultrasound.
Education / Experience Required- Graduate of an accredited Diagnostic Medical Sonography program and eligible for ARDMS registry that provides a minimum of 1 year of clinical scanning.
- CPR certification.
- ARDMS Registered or ARDMS registry eligible if within 24 months of graduation from an approved sonography program.
- Possess a high degree of technical knowledge to perform specialized ultrasound studies with little assistance from radiologists.
- ARDMS Registered or ARDMS registry eligible if within 24 months of graduation from an approved sonography program.
- CPR certification.
Ability to adjust to flexible hours at minimal notice, work odd hours (late hours on‑call), and respond to emergency callbacks in minimal time.
Ability to stand for long periods of time; continually view a video display screen during exam; perform lifting activities related to patients.
This position can recognize needs and behaviors of all age groups. Evidence of this can be shown by recognizing levels of development, modifying approach, and exhibiting communication skills necessary to interpret age‑specific responses. Prior experience with various age groups is preferred.
Ability to lift up to 35 pounds without assistance. For patient lifts of over 35 pounds, or when the patient is unable to assist, patient‑handling equipment is expected to be used, with at least one other associate, when available. Unique patient lifting/movement situations will be assessed on a case‑by‑case basis.
Addendum- Report patient safety events and near misses in a timely fashion.
