Our headquarters in Charlotte, NC, is seeking a Java developer to support our client, the largest U.S. wholesale distributor for construction products. The successful candidate will work with a dedicated team to build enterprise-level web development systems, offering a fun and rewarding environment with opportunities for career growth.

• Translate business, functional, and non-functional requirements into technical solutions using Java J2EE Framework
• Collaborate with the Application Architect to build solution consensus
• Provide design and implementation estimates
• Manage the full development lifecycle: requirements gathering, technical design, development, testing, implementation, and documentation
• Implement solutions using Java J2EE, Spring Tool Suite, HTML/CSS/AJAX, Web Services, and relational database design

Required:

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or related field from an accredited institution
• Experience with IBM Web Sphere, Web Sphere Portal Server, Tomcat or JBoss, SOA, IBM iSeries, and DB2

Additional qualifications as deemed appropriate by the client.

• Knowledge of application development, agile methodologies, requirements definition, use cases, business rules, change management, and testing
• Relational database design skills
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications:
  Project, Visio, Word, Excel, Power Point
• Ability to prioritize and execute tasks effectively under pressure
• Ability to work independently across multiple projects and teams
• Excellent Java OOP skills and understanding of design patterns
• Knowledge of industry-standard open source technologies
• Willingness to learn client’s materials, methods, and practices
