As a Cloud Operations Dev Ops Engineer, you’ll apply specialized knowledge of container, Kubernetes and public/private cloud infrastructure design & operation, to assist with the development and onward operation of a multi-cloud container runtime platform supporting Siemens Cloud enabled products & services.

This position makes significant contributions towards the delivery Dev Ops solutions that support best-in-class cloud based microservice applications. You’ll be a member of a dynamic, cross-functional, geographically dispersed team, working with subject matters experts from Infrastructure engineering & architecture, software engineering, DEVOPS, security, networks, firewalls, computing & storage to deliver a global, powerful, scalable, cost efficient, highly available platform that meets the changing needs of the business.

As an infrastructure and cloud Dev Ops engineer, you will have responsibilities in designing, implementing, and operating automated infrastructure and processes  will create and maintain IaaS environments that meet service level agreement; support the resource requirements of the development, QA, and customer value realization teams; enable CI/CD; meet compliance and best practice standards; and are well documented.

Recognized by peers as a strong collaborator. Must excel in a team environment that changes with new technology adoption and evolving customer requirements. Works with some supervision on the most complex projects and desires to obtain complete latitude for independent judgment. Has excellent written and verbal communication skills.

• Develop and maintain highly scalable, efficient, performant & resilient capabilities, meeting availability targets of 99.99%.
• Leverage your advanced experience of Public and Private cloud environments and container runtime environments, working with other specialists of Networks, Firewall, Security, computing & storage technologies to develop, operate and support the platform.
• Using Infrastructure As Code (IAC) best practices, create automated infrastructure within AWS/Azure, on on-premise environments, including package management, application load/configuration, systems monitoring and administration.
• Implement and maintain CI/CD tools, services, processes to support development, QA, and customer value realization teams.
• Deliver improvements to source code management, deployment, operations, maintenance, cost control, security, monitoring, and audit tools and processes.
• Constantly strive to reduce toil and deliver capabilities that enable Siemens to maintain competitive advantage in the marketplace.
• Ensure the production environment is operating in accordance with established procedures and best practices. Provide escalated support for high severity and critical network events.

• Bachelor’s Degree or higher.
• 2-5 years of relevant experience.
• Advanced knowledge of Linux OS and the open-source ecosystem.
• Advanced expertise with Amazon Web Services (AWS), including ECS, VPC, EKS, IAM, with experience in equivalent Azure technologies also acceptable.
• Proficient in automation tools such as Jenkins, Git Lab-CI, as well as Infrastructure as Code (IaC) tools like Terraform, Cloud Formation, and Ansible.
• Strong experience in designing and implementing Dev Ops solutions, including automated infrastructure, CMDB, Git Ops, and Chat Ops.
