AI Data Science Leader

Overview

The leader will lead the advancement of applied Data Science and GenAI across FCB. It will provide specialized expertise to identify and shape high‑impact AI use cases that drive process transformation. It will develop and maintain FCB’s AI platform roadmap in alignment with business, enterprise data, technology, and risk strategies. It will also define standardized patterns, best practices, and reusable assets to enable scalable and compliant AI delivery.

It will advise business and technology teams on solution design, conduct vendor evaluations to select the most effective GenAI vendors, and perform ongoing market intelligence to inform innovation and strategic decisions.

• Lead the strategic development and implementation of FCB's comprehensive AI platform roadmap, ensuring alignment with enterprise business, data, technology, and risk management strategies
• Identify, assess, and shape high‑impact AI use cases that deliver measurable process improvements, operational efficiencies, and strategic value across the organization
• Develop and establish standardized AI development patterns, best practices, and reusable assets to enable scalable, consistent, and compliant AI solution delivery
• Conduct comprehensive vendor evaluations and market intelligence research to select the most effective generative AI technologies and partners that support FCB's strategic objectives
• Provide specialized technical expertise and advisory services to business and technology teams, guiding solution design and ensuring optimal AI/GenAI implementation approaches
• Collaborate across enterprise functions to design, validate, and implement AI solutions that meet rigorous performance, security, regulatory, and risk management requirements
• Foster a culture of AI innovation by staying current with emerging technologies, industry trends, and potential breakthrough applications that can provide competitive advantages for First Citizens Bank

Bachelor's Degree and 8 years of experience in Artificial Intelligence including GenAI and ML, Advanced Analytics, Data Management, Data Analytics, AI Risk Management OR High School Diploma or GED and 12 years of experience in Artificial Intelligence including GenAI and ML, Advanced Analytics, Data Management, Data Analytics, AI Risk.

Preferred Area of Study: AI Data Science, Business Analytics, Computer Science, or related field. Preferred Area of

Experience:

Financial Services Industry.

Skill(s):
Strategic, Change Management, Understanding of data platforms (e.g., Snowflake, AWS, Data Warehouse, Marts), lineage documentation, ETL processes, and agile data product delivery across cross‑functional teams using Scrum, SAFe, or Kanban.
