Description

Is God calling you to ministry? For over 70 years, BGEA has proclaimed the Gospel through its ministries. The IT Department supports, develops, scales, and secures assets, infrastructure, and programs across the ministry while maintaining availability. This position coordinates, maintains, and/or develops IT processes, policies, and procedures that govern IT and other internal ministry departments. A deep understanding of Jira/Confluence and the ability to create tailored solutions for complex ministry needs are required.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities
  • Provides system administration, project/space development, and technical support of the ministry’s Atlassian Jira and Confluence Data Center environment.
  • Serves as technical advisor and primary implementer for IT and other departments in the concept, design, and development of project management solutions that fit within ministry objectives.
  • Develops and improves process workflows, automations, and collaboration tools to improve ministry productivity and efficiency as well as asset tracking.
  • Coordinates the IT Change Enablement process, leads Change Advisory Board (CAB) meetings, and participates in Incident Management, Postmortem, and Risk Management functions.
  • Manages the IT policies and procedures repository, establishing and enforcing standards for lifecycle, structure, content, and format.
  • Ensures system integrity and compliance with auditing requirements, financial standards, and other defined policies and procedures.
Marginal Duties and Responsibilities
  • Trains authorized users of the Jira and Confluence applications as needed.
  • Develops training resources for staff who write, review, edit, and use IT policies and procedures.
  • Researches new technologies to identify future solutions or complementary software packages to improve and enhance the existing line of business software solutions.
  • Other projects and duties as assigned.
Job Specifications Skills and Knowledge
  • Bachelor-level degree in IT, Project Management, or other relevant field.
  • Minimum 3 years' experience administering Jira and Confluence (Server or Data Center).
  • Proficient knowledge of ITIL, Agile, and Waterfall methodologies.
  • Advanced knowledge of MS Office and Visio is strongly preferred.
  • Knowledge of client/server architecture, Active Directory, and networking concepts such as LAN, DNS, and LDAP is highly preferred.
  • Knowledge of Linux operating system and command line is preferred.
  • Ability to translate customer needs and requirements into customized system configurations that meet critical business needs.
  • Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedures in a clear and professional manner.

Working Conditions

  • Some domestic travel may occasionally be required.
