Senior AI Data Engineer

RESPONSIBILITIES

Kforce has a client that is seeking a Senior AI Data Engineer in Charlotte, NC.

• Design, build, and optimize scalable data pipelines using AWS Glue, Apache Kafka, AWS Lambda, and Step Functions
• Develop and maintain robust data lakes and data warehouses on Amazon S3
• Implement infrastructure as code using Cloud Formation Templates (CFT)
• Collaborate with Data Scientists and ML Engineers to integrate AI/ML models into production-grade data workflows
• Write efficient, reusable, and testable code in Python, SQL, and Py Spark
• Ensure data quality, governance, and security across all data platforms
• Monitor and troubleshoot data pipeline performance and reliability
• Participate in architectural discussions and contribute to cloud strategy and best practices

• 10 years of experience in Data Engineering with a strong focus on AWS Cloud
• Proficiency in Python, SQL, and Py Spark
• Solid understanding of AI/ML concepts and experience integrating models into data pipelines
• Experience with CI/CD tools and Dev Ops practices in cloud environments
• Strong problem-solving skills and ability to work in a fast-paced, collaborative environment

The pay range is the lowest to highest compensation we reasonably in good faith believe we would pay at posting for this role. We may ultimately pay more or less than this range. Employee pay is based on factors like relevant education, qualifications, certifications, experience, skills, seniority, location, performance, union contract and business needs. This range may be modified in the future.

We offer comprehensive benefits including medical/dental/vision insurance, HSA, FSA, 401(k), and life, disability & ADD insurance to eligible employees. Salaried personnel receive paid time off. Hourly employees are not eligible for paid time off unless required by law. Hourly employees on a Service Contract Act project are eligible for paid sick leave.
