The BGEA Information Technology (IT) department consists of the following areas:
Operations (networking/routing, servers, storage, security cameras, telephony), Service Desk (end-user hardware and software management/support, event support, general IT assistance), Cybersecurity (threat defense, monitoring/analysis, awareness, and compliance), Enterprise Solutions (application and web development, data visualization, report writing, database management), and Enterprise Solutions Support (Donor/CRM, Financial, HR, and other ERP type solutions support). The IT department furthers the mission of BGEA through supporting, developing, scaling, and securing the assets, infrastructure, and programs required by all areas of the ministry while maintaining and ensuring their availability.

The Senior Manager, Data & Database Services provides strategic leadership for BGEA’s database, reporting, and analytics development.

• Maintains a personal, active relationship with Jesus Christ and is a consistent witness for Jesus Christ
• Faithfully upholds BGEA in prayer
• Participates in daily BGEA staff devotions including Bible reading, and leading group prayer as schedule permits
• Demonstrates behavior aligned with BGEA’s Mission Statement, Statement of Faith, Hallmarks, policies, and expectations
• Effectively represents Jesus Christ to those within both personal and professional spheres of influence

• Provide strategic direction for enterprise data environments and analytics capabilities.
• Lead modernization of reporting and visualization tools, including secure AI/LLM-enabled solutions.
• Drives the evolution of our data pipelines by adopting and maintaining modern ETL/ELT patterns, automated deployment workflows, and durable, maintainable tooling; ensures the data platform operates with a Dev Ops mindset focused on observability, repeatability, and long-term sustainability.
• Guide the database services team in Agile/Scrum and iterative delivery practices.
• Ensure data integrity and quality across financial, donor, CRM, and website systems.
• Direct design and enhancement of Tableau datasets, dashboards, and reporting frameworks.
• Collaborate with Cybersecurity and IT Operations to ensure compliance and system resilience.
• Provide architectural guidance on data structures, dependencies, and metadata standards.
• Engage directly with users and internal ministry partners to refine data needs and solutions.

Skills and Knowledge

• Bachelor’s degree (or equivalent experience/certifications) and 7–10+ years of progressive experience with database management and analytics
• 5+ years proven experience as a manager of small to mid-size data teams
• Experience leading modernization initiatives, including Agile/Scrum transformation
• 5+ years hands-on SQL and relational database expertise (MSSQL/MySQL required)
• Experience with enterprise financial and donor management (CRM) systems preferred
• Familiarity with AI/LLM-driven analytics solutions
• Strong communication skills across technical and non-technical stakeholders
