Data Network Engineer (Full Time, Contract; Hybrid in Charlotte, NC)

Optomi, in partnership with a leading enterprise organization, is seeking a Data Network Engineer to support the design, implementation, and ongoing improvement of complex enterprise network solutions. This hands‑on role focuses on Cisco routing and switching, Cisco IOS configuration, WAN circuit turn‑ups and troubleshooting, and maintaining accurate network documentation and diagrams. The engineer will work closely with cross‑functional IT teams to deliver reliable, cost‑effective network solutions, participate in planning and testing new hardware deployments, and ensure smooth integration within an existing enterprise environment.

• Plan, design, test, and implement enterprise data network solutions
• Configure and support Cisco IOS on routers and switches
• Implement new network hardware within the existing infrastructure
• Maintain accurate network diagrams, configurations, and documentation
• Procure, turn‑up, and troubleshoot private and public WAN circuits
• Collaborate across IT teams to deliver end‑to‑end network solutions

• 5–7+ years of overall Information Technology experience
• 5+ years designing, implementing, and supporting Cisco network environments
• Strong hands‑on experience with routing, switching, and TCP/IP
• Experience configuring and troubleshooting Cisco IOS on routers and switches
• Exposure to private and public WAN circuits, including turn‑ups and troubleshooting
• Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively across teams
