Job Summary- Position:
Data Manager - Location:
Charlotte, NC (Remote if prior Grant Thornton or Big 4 experience) - Duration: 6+ months
- Reporting to:
Data Engineering Lead
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Data Science, Software Engineering, Information Systems, or related field
- 8+ years of experience in data engineering, including:
- Data modeling, ETL/ELT, data integration, master/entity data management, data quality, data warehousing, analytics, business intelligence, data science, and governance
- Strong proficiency in Informatica and Snowflake
- Proficient in programming languages: C#, Python, SQL, Java
- Experience with Microsoft technologies: SQL Server, Synapse, Cosmos
DB, HDInsight, Azure Data Factory, Azure Databricks, Power BI, Fabric - Experience with Informatica cloud technologies (CIH, DIH, CDGC, MDM, Data Quality)
- Clear and concise communication skills with ability to translate complex technical concepts for diverse audiences
- Strong critical and creative thinking skills; ability to analyze data, recognize trends, and advise on decisions
- Proactive problem‑solver who takes initiative, seeks efficiencies, and drives continuous improvement
- Flexible and able to prioritize and balance multiple work streams
- Values diversity, collaborates well, and demonstrates emotional intelligence and professionalism
- Builds a positive personal brand and shares knowledge
- Design, develop, and maintain data pipelines and infrastructure for data storage, processing, and analysis
- Extract, transform, and load (ETL) data from various sources into appropriate data storage systems
- Collaborate with architects, data scientists, AI engineers, and analysts to manage data assets and optimize models for quality, security, and governance
- Integrate data from databases, data warehouses, APIs, and external systems
- Ensure data consistency, integrity, and perform validation/cleaning as needed
- Transform raw data using cleansing, aggregation, filtering, and enrichment techniques
- Optimize workflows for performance, scalability, and efficiency
- Monitor and tune data systems to resolve bottlenecks and enhance query performance
- Implement data quality checks and validations in pipelines
- Take responsibility for leveraging enterprise data assets to provide insights for decision‑making and business success
- Certifications in relevant technologies (Informatica, Snowflake, Microsoft, etc.)
- Previous experience in professional services or accounting industry
- Prior client service or consultative experience
- Experience in managed services provider environment
- Submission must include 2 professional references
