** Our challenge
** We are seeking an experienced Data Modeler to design, develop, and maintain conceptual, logical, and physical data models that support enterprise data initiatives. The ideal candidate will work closely with business stakeholders, data architects, ETL developers, and analytics teams to ensure data structures are scalable, efficient, and aligned with business requirements.  Additional Information
* The base salary for this position will vary based on geography and other factors. In accordance with law, the base salary for this role if filled within Charlotte, NC is $95k - $100k/year & benefits (see below).
** The Role
**** Responsibilities:
*** Design and develop conceptual, logical, and physical data models for enterprise applications and data warehouses.
* Analyze business requirements and translate them into effective data structures.
* Create and maintain data dictionaries, metadata, data lineage, and data governance documentation.
* Develop dimensional models including Star and Snowflake schemas for reporting and analytics.
* Collaborate with data architects, ETL developers, DBAs, and business teams.
* Perform data profiling, data quality assessments, and data validation.
* Optimize database performance through efficient data modeling techniques.
* Ensure compliance with data governance, security, and regulatory standards.
* Support data migration, integration, and modernization initiatives.
* Review and recommend improvements to existing data models and database designs.
** Requirements:
*** Strong experience in Data Modeling and Data Architecture.
* Hands-on experience with Erwin, ER/Studio, Power Designer, or similar data modeling tools.
* Expertise in SQL and relational database concepts.
* Experience with databases such as Oracle, SQL Server, PostgreSQL, Snowflake, Teradata, or DB2.
* Strong understanding of Data Warehousing, ETL processes, and dimensional modeling.
* Knowledge of data governance, metadata management, and data lineage concepts.
* Experience with cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud Platform (GCP).
* Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
** Preferred, but not required:
*** Experience with Big Data technologies and modern data platforms.
* Knowledge of Data Vault modeling techniques.
* Experience in Agile/Scrum environments.
* Certification in data management or cloud technologies is a plus.
