We're looking for a hands-on consultant to support our Splunk Platform and Splunk Observability Cloud environments. The main work is migrating Splunk on-prem to Splunk Cloud and expanding APM and Open Telemetry-based monitoring across AWS workloads.
Responsibilities- Administer Splunk Enterprise and Splunk Cloud: data onboarding, forwarders, indexes, apps, dashboards and alerts.
- Support the migration of Splunk on-prem workloads to Splunk Cloud: app remediation, knowledge object migration, forwarder repointing and data validation.
- Configure Splunk Observability Cloud: APM, infrastructure monitoring, dashboards and detectors.
- Instrument applications with Open Telemetry, and deploy and manage Open Telemetry Collectors.
- Integrate AWS services (Cloud Watch, X-Ray, Cloud Trail) with Splunk and Splunk Observability Cloud.
- Support observability for AI/GenAI workloads, including Amazon Bedrock and AI agents.
- Document configurations and runbooks, and support incident troubleshooting.
- 3-5+ years of hands-on Splunk administration (SPL, data onboarding, props/transforms, dashboards).
- Experience migrating Splunk on-prem to Splunk Cloud.
- Hands-on experience with Splunk Observability Cloud (Signal Fx) APM.
- Working knowledge of Open Telemetry, including setting up Collectors.
- Experience with AWS, including Cloud Watch and X-Ray.
