In this critical data engineering leadership role, you will be responsible for designing high-performance data pipelines, architecting enterprise data warehouses, and ensuring uncompromising database reliability. The ideal candidate will bring 12+ years of professional data engineering experience, deep mastery in Oracle RDBMS, advanced SQL, PL/SQL, and modern big data processing frameworks.

As a Lead Data Engineer in Charlotte, NC via Racedog Technologies, you will serve as a principal technical authority responsible for directing enterprise data warehousing and complex ETL pipeline development. Your daily responsibilities will encompass architecting robust data models, writing and optimizing complex Oracle SQL and PL/SQL queries, managing database performance tuning, and leading data engineering squads. You will collaborate closely with data analysts, data scientists, and business stakeholders.

• Architect, design, and implement scalable enterprise data pipelines, ETL/ELT workflows, and data warehousing solutions.
• Manage and optimize mission-critical Oracle RDBMS environments, database schemas, table spaces, and partitioning strategies.
• Write, tune, and optimize complex SQL queries, stored procedures, triggers, and PL/SQL packages for maximum execution speed.
• Ensure uncompromising data quality, lineage, governance, validation, and integrity across enterprise data stores.
• Collaborate proactively with data scientists, BI analysts, and software developers to support analytical and operational reporting.
• Implement robust automated testing, monitoring, and error-handling mechanisms for batch and streaming data pipelines.
• Enforce enterprise security standards, data masking, encryption, and access control policies within database systems.
• Conduct capacity planning, index maintenance, and database performance troubleshooting.
• Mentor junior and mid-level data engineers, establishing coding standards and architectural best practices.
• Author comprehensive data architecture blueprints, ETL runbooks, database schema diagrams, and technical specifications.

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Data Engineering, Information Technology, or a related discipline.
• Minimum of 12+ years of professional data engineering experience in complex enterprise environments.
• Deep specialized expertise in Oracle RDBMS architecture, database administration, and performance tuning.
• Mandatory advanced technical proficiency in SQL and PL/SQL programming for complex data transformations.
• Strong practical experience building ETL pipelines using modern data integration tools (Informatica, Talend, Apache Airflow) and cloud storage.
• Outstanding analytical problem-solving, data modeling, and cross-functional communication capabilities.
• Mandatory residency/work authorization:
  Ability to operate fully onsite in Charlotte, NC.

• Professional certifications such as Oracle Database SQL Certified Expert or AWS Certified Data Analytics.
• Prior professional experience working within tier-1 financial institutions or banking corporations in Charlotte.
• Familiarity with cloud data platforms (Snowflake, Databricks, AWS Redshift).
• Immediate availability for onsite mobilization in Charlotte.
