Provide system administration, technical leadership, and support of complex network environments. The BT Network/Telecom Engineer is competent to work on complex projects and demonstrates a thorough understanding of network technologies and industry standards common to enterprise architectures.

This is highly analytical work that provides day-to-day support and administration of the Enterprise Systems powered by network equipment and third party telecommunications providers. This includes routers, firewalls, switches, access points, and structured cabling. A broader knowledge of information technology at large and a deep understanding of the field and its related technologies is required along with a firm understanding of related disciplines.

Work requirements may necessitate working after hours, weekends, and holidays to fulfill project requirements. Responsibilities include, but may not be limited to, the following:

• Participation in short and long-term infrastructure technology strategy and planning for the organization.
• Drives issues through closure, engaging all appropriate resources, leads technical bridges and provides troubleshooting direction. Functions with great autonomy and independently provides guidance and recommends solutions.
• Plans and directs multiple projects, often spanning different engineering disciplines within the organization, to develop strategies, proposals, and communicates plans. Leads the integration of projects into operations including automation, standardization, methods and procedures.
• Manages time sensitive projects and activities simultaneously and effectively. Ability to fluidly shift focus and priorities based on changing business needs. Is self-motivated, proactive, curious, accountable and flexible.
• Experienced with working in a cloud computing or virtualization environment. Participates in defining architecture and technology standards to optimize system performance and integrity in such an environment.
• Provides consultation to customers and other teams, to create or implement solutions, provide recommendations for both the design and action plans on system integration or migration and works with senior decision makers on an on-going basis to develop long-range strategic alternatives.
