Lead the platform that powers 24/7 operations for Fortune 500 clients.
Our client, a leading enterprise technology company, is seeking a hands-on Manager of Platform Engineering to own Dev Ops, SRE, and platform reliability for their customer-facing cloud platform. This is a high-impact leadership role for someone who wants to stay technical while building and mentoring a world-class team.
What You'll Do
- Build, mentor, and retain a high-performing team of platform/Dev Ops/SRE engineers
- Own platform strategy, roadmap, and execution against SLAs and business KPIs (availability, MTTR, deployment frequency)
- Architect and operate hybrid infrastructure (Azure + on-prem) with high availability, security, and cost efficiency
- Drive CI/CD, Kubernetes (AKS), and Infrastructure as Code (Terraform/Bicep) maturity
- Establish SRE practices: SLOs/SLIs, error budgets, observability, blameless postmortems
- Lead incident response, DR strategy (RPO/RTO), and security/compliance controls
- Run operational cadences: CAB, release reviews, retrospectives
Must-Haves
- 6+ years in platform/Dev Ops/software engineering, 2–3+ years managing a team
- Deep Azure expertise (AKS, Entra/Azure AD, RBAC, monitoring, networking)
- Proven experience scaling mission-critical, customer-facing platforms
- Hands-on with CI/CD, Kubernetes, Terraform/ARM/Bicep, observability tools
- Strong security/compliance background and change management (ITIL) experience
- Excellent communication skills—able to translate tech into business impact
Nice-to-Haves
- Background in SaaS, IoT, or real-time data platforms
- Experience with Datadog, Prometheus/Grafana, or Application Insights
- Azure Solutions Architect Expert, Azure Dev Ops Expert, or CKA certification
- Experience scaling platforms through rapid growth (2x–3x)
- SOC 2/ISO 27001 compliance experience
