Position: Estate Planning Attorney Experience Required

A nationally recognized law firm is seeking an experienced Estate Planning Attorney to join its Charlotte office. This role offers the opportunity to handle sophisticated estate planning matters for high net-worth and ultra-high-net-worth clients in a collegial, well-resourced environment. Candidates must have at least 6 years of estate planning experience to be considered for this opportunity.

Responsibilities
  • Advise high net-worth individuals and families on estate, gift, and generation-skipping transfer tax planning, charitable giving strategies, and wealth preservation.
  • Draft, review, and implement complex estate planning documents, including trusts, family partnerships, and charitable vehicles.
  • Collaborate with clients' financial advisors, CPAs, and other professionals to provide comprehensive tax and estate guidance.
  • Manage client relationships with professionalism and discretion, serving as a trusted advisor.
  • Stay current on federal and North Carolina tax laws affecting estate and wealth transfer planning.
Qualifications
  • J.D. from an accredited law school and active license to practice law in North Carolina.
  • Minimum of 6 years of dedicated estate planning experience, preferably with high net-worth clients.
  • Strong knowledge of federal estate and gift tax laws; familiarity with North Carolina tax regulations is a plus.
  • Proven ability to work independently on sophisticated planning strategies and to build long-term client relationships.

This is an excellent opportunity to join a prestigious national firm with a strong reputation in estate planning, offering the chance to develop a practice in one of the firm's key southeastern offices.
