About the Role:

Direct Counsel is seeking a Commercial Real Estate Loan Review & Diligence Staff Attorney to join a leading national law firm with a top-tier Real Estate Finance practice. This position offers a unique opportunity to work closely with experienced attorneys on complex commercial real estate financings in a collaborative and flexible work environment.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Review and analyze loan documents, opinions, leases, title policies, surveys, and other diligence materials related to commercial real estate financings.
  • Identify and communicate potential issues with clarity and precision.
  • Collaborate with attorneys and support staff across multiple offices to ensure efficient and accurate transaction support.
  • Maintain exceptional attention to detail while managing multiple concurrent matters.
Qualifications:
  • J.D. from an ABA-accredited law school.
  • Admission to practice law in at least one U.S. jurisdiction (North Carolina or New York preferred).
  • At least five years of experience in commercial real estate finance, ideally representing institutional lenders.
  • Strong understanding of commercial loan structures and related due diligence.
  • Excellent analytical, organizational, and communication skills.
Compensation & Benefits:

This is a non-partnership track position. The anticipated base salary range is $100,000–$430,000, commensurate with experience, qualifications, and work location. The firm offers comprehensive benefits, including medical, dental, and vision coverage; 401(k) retirement plan; life and disability insurance; and additional wellness and dependent care support.
