Position OverviewThe Senior Removal Defense Attorney will lead complex removal defense and litigation matters, provide mentorship to junior attorneys, and collaborate across practice areas to advance client outcomes. This is a leadership‑track position with opportunities to shape litigation strategy, team development, and firm‑wide best practices.
Key Responsibilities- Represent clients in removal proceedings before EOIR and the BIA, including bond hearings, individual hearings, and appeals.
- Manage a highly diverse caseload, including asylum, cancellation of removal, and humanitarian relief.
- Supervise and mentor junior attorneys and paralegals.
- Draft and review motions, briefs, and memoranda.
- Conduct legal research and maintain familiarity with immigration law updates and case law.
- Collaborate on strategy and workflow improvements for removal and humanitarian cases.
- Participate in outreach and education initiatives as needed.
- J.D. from an accredited law school; active bar membership in good standing (any U.S. jurisdiction).
- Minimum 5 years of immigration law experience, with significant litigation and removal defense background.
- Proficiency in Spanish and English required.
- Experience with VAWA, U/T visas, asylum (affirmative and defensive), and family‑based petitions strongly preferred.
- Excellent research, writing, and oral advocacy skills.
- Strong leadership, communication, and organizational abilities.
