Position: Demand Planner (Original Equipment)

Role: Demand Planner (Original Equipment)

Location: Charlotte, NC
· Hybrid (in office Tue–Thu)

About the role

Our client is a fast-growing global manufacturer serving the agriculture, construction and industrial equipment markets. They’re hiring an OE Demand Planner to own the forecast for one to two of their largest original equipment (OEM) customers.

This is a customer-facing planning role. You’ll meet regularly with customer supply chain teams, lead forecast reviews, and challenge demand that doesn’t add up. You’ll also translate supply constraints back to the customer. The work is about 80% demand planning and 20% supply planning. The team is lean, so your work is visible to leadership quickly. The last person in this seat was promoted.

What

you’ll do
  • Own the demand forecast and forecast accuracy for key OEM accounts.
  • Lead forecast reviews with customer supply chain teams, and question unexplained demand changes.
  • Analyze large datasets in Excel to spot trends, demand spikes and risks.
  • Coordinate across Sales, Supply Planning, Operations and the global manufacturing team.
  • Tell customers about shortages, constraints and inventory concerns.
  • Support S&OP and monitor inventory quality (excess and stockouts).
What you’ll bring
  • 3–5 years in demand planning, with building and owning the forecast as your primary responsibility.
  • Expert Excel on large datasets (pivots, XLOOKUP/VLOOKUP, consolidation).
  • Direct, recurring customer interaction, and confidence presenting data and pushing back.
  • Working knowledge of supply planning and inventory.
  • Ability to work independently and own your accounts within 30–60 days.
  • Plus: tire, automotive or industrial manufacturing background, OEM customer experience, or APICS/ASCM certification.
Details
  • Hybrid: in office Tue–Thu, with more in-office time during onboarding.
  • Flexible hours (7–4, 8–5 or 9–6) and ~40 hours a week.
  • Several early-morning calls a week with the global manufacturing team.
  • Benefits: medical, dental, vision, 401(k) match, PTO, paid holidays, disability, life insurance and professional development.
  • Clear growth path into Supply Chain Manager and broader supply chain leadership.
