FABRICATION MANUFACTURING TECHNICIAN APPRENTICE (PART-TIME)
POSITION SUMMARY
Part-time (25-30 hrs/wk) position assisting metal shaping technicians and supervisor with maintaining equipment and work areas. Utilizes fabrication skills to assist with very basic fabrication components. Responsible for learning to set up and maintain various metal cutting equipment such as laser, waterjet, and manual press brake and improving fabrication skills.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS• Assisting with general, day-to-day shop operations.
• Load and unload parts as needed on the laser.
• Clean and assemble components as required.
• Clean work areas.
• Perform maintenance on machines as required
• Set up high-speed water jet cutter to cut and trim parts and materials according to specifications.
• Complete basic shop related duties as needed when not assigned to a specific test.
• Any other duties as assigned by supervisor.

• Detail Oriented - Pays attention to the minute details of a project or task.
• Troubleshooting - Determining the causes of operating errors and deciding the action to take.
• Safety Awareness - Ability to identify and correct conditions that affect employee safety.
• Repairing - Repairing items using needed tools and equipment.
SKILLS & ABILITIESEducation: High School Graduate or General Education Degree (GED):
Required
Experience: No prior experience is required, 1-2 years in shop environment preferred.

Skills:
Basic computer skills
Other Requirements: Basic mechanical skills required. Ability to work a flexible schedule as needed.
This role subject to International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR) requirements and as such, U.S. Citizen, Permanent Resident or U.S. Person Status Required.
