Field Service Technician – Level III

Location: Charlotte, NC (HQ – Travel Based)

Position Type: Full-Time | Day Shift

Travel: Up to 85% (Majority Air Travel)

We are seeking an experienced Field Service Technician – Level III to support installation, troubleshooting, and repair of high-precision CNC machinery at customer sites across the U.S. This role is ideal for technicians who can work independently while collaborating with customers and internal teams.

• Travel to customer sites for CNC machine troubleshooting, repairs, and installations
• Install new equipment, retrofits, and design improvements
• Diagnose customer issues via phone/email and on-site support
• Perform mechanical alignment, CNC control, servo, PLC, and automation troubleshooting
• Create technical bulletins, service documentation, and trip reports
• Maintain compliance with company safety policies and OSHA standards
• Communicate status updates to customers, distributors, and service management

• Associate Degree in Electronics or equivalent experience
• 5+ years of experience with CNC controls, servo systems, PLCs, and automation
• Strong mechanical background (hydraulics, pneumatics, precision measurement)
• FANUC CNC experience (preferred)
• Basic technical writing skills (preferred)
• Strong troubleshooting and analytical skills
• Ability to read blueprints and electrical schematics
• Proficiency with precision measuring tools (laser, ball bar, micrometers, etc.)
• Customer-focused mindset with excellent communication skills
• Ability to work independently in a fast-paced, travel-heavy role
