A Team Lead is responsible for overseeing teams of employees and motivating them to complete their job duties effectively. Their duties include training new employees and providing team members with daily objectives, developing and implementing reward systems to motivate employee productivity, and communicating with upper management to determine the best methods for meeting organization goals.
Responsibilities- Use empowerment, trust and other strategies as appropriate to develop and motivate team members
- Lead team members in the area using +QDIP and driving adherence to standard work Maintain production records using written records, computers, barcode scanning equipment or other technologies
- Monitor and expedite flow of information through the work cells and use problem‑solving techniques to resolve recurring safety, inventory accuracy, scheduling, productivity and quality issues
- Provide the team with a vision of the project objectives by leading daily start‑up meetings
- Train employees in equipment operation, department processes, quality and safety standards using Training Within Industry methods (TWI‑JI)
- Assist in planning work‑area assignments
- Recognize and celebrate team members’ accomplishments and exceptional performance
- Keep the supervisor informed of task accomplishment, issues and status, escalating when necessary
- Serve as a central point to communicate and resolve issues with other teams
- Provide guidance to the team based on management direction
- Bridge the shift gap for customer pick‑up and coordinate as the point of contact for security
- All other assignments assigned by leadership
- High school diploma/General Education Degree (GED)
- 2+ years of experience working in a manufacturing environment
- Excellent planning and organizational skills
- Proven ability to follow through on commitments and details
- Excellent written, verbal and interpersonal communication skills
- Ability to problem‑solve
- Ability to perform varied and complex tasks
- Associate’s degree
- 2+ years of experience with ERP systems, JDE/Oracle preferred
- Good technical problem‑solving/analytical skills and mechanical aptitude
- Hands‑on, shop‑floor experience
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook) preferred
- Forklift knowledge a plus
Physical Requirements
- Fully site‑based
- Standing and/or walking for entire shift and ability to multitask in a fast‑paced environment
- Bending and/or stooping repeatedly throughout shift
- Lift and/or carry up to 50 pounds unassisted regularly
- Ability to work in a non‑climate‑controlled environment
