Crater and Packer
This role involves building custom wooden crates and pallets to package, protect, and ship products for major clients, supporting specialized projects as part of third-party logistics (3PL) and industrial packaging services. Employees receive training at the Charlotte facility and are cross-trained in multiple areas to provide flexible support across operations. Additionally, employees may assist with managing inventory, packaging, material handling, and preparing products for shipment.
Occasional travel to other locations in Ohio, Texas, and Pennsylvania for project work is required. Forklift and overhead crane training/certification will be provided, though prior certification is not necessary.
Utilize hand tools, power tools, and measuring tapes.
Confirm inventory count and accuracy.
Complete required paperwork.
Perform routine and minor maintenance on equipment.
Maintain a clean and orderly work environment.
Assist with crate building and material packaging as required.
Perform related duties as needed by the Crating Manager.
Experience with mechanical tasks, warehouse operations, hand tools, and power tools.
Competence in using measuring tools.
Strong attention to detail.
Effective communication skills.
Experience with ERP systems, forklifts, power tools, carpentry, kitting, woodworking, and crate building.

Work EnvironmentThe work is conducted in a non-climate controlled facility within a distribution center that supports major clients. Employees should be prepared to stand for the duration of their shift. The receiving dock can be cold in winter and hot in summer.
Job Type & LocationThis is a Contract to Hire position based out of Charlotte, NC.
Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $19.00 - $21.00/hr.
Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
