Overview
RN - Med Surg/Tele travel assignment with multiple units and regional requirements. Provides care for Adults/Geriatrics with common diagnoses including COPD exacerbation, Pneumonia, CHF exacerbation, falls with injuries, MVC injuries, pulmonary embolism, DVT, UTI, pneumothorax, GI bleeds, CVA.
Unit Information- ADTU and Satellite unit consists of 5 med-surg and med-tele units with the primary focus of decompressing the ED and other specialty areas within the hospital.
- Beds: 3K - 8 beds; 5A - 12 beds; 3L - 7 beds; 1T – 7 beds
- Radius rule:
Traveler’s permanent address must be 50 miles outside of home unit - Facility: 874 licensed beds;
Level I Trauma;
Teaching Hospital;
Chest Pain Center;

- RN - Med Surg/Tele
- Support roles include CNA, LPN (if applicable), Secretary, Charge Nurse, Phlebotomy, IV/VAT Team, Resource Nurse, RT, Hospitalist, Intensivist, Telemetry monitoring
- Floating:
Required per region needs within scope of practice; decline if not agreeable
- Provide direct patient care for adult and geriatric populations in Med Surg and Telemetry units
- Telemetry monitoring and interpretation per shift; coordinate with unit team
- Assist with procedures and treatments (PIV starts, drain/tube management, NGT placement, foley management, PCA pumps)
- Medication management including cardiac drips, heparin, blood products, IVF as applicable
- Collaborate with hospitalists and intensivists as needed
- Assist with rounds, patient hygiene, and daily care; participate in unit operations
- Minimum 2 years Med/Tele RN experience (Resource Team)
- First-time traveler not preferred but will be considered (Resource Team)
- Licenses/Certifications:
BLS, ACLS, NIHSS for Med/Tele RN - Skills:
Stroke experience, cardiac rhythm interpretation, trach care, NGT, drain/tube management, etc.
- Shifts:
7a-7p; 7p-7a - Schedule cycle: every 6 weeks
- Weekend rotation: every other
- Holidays:
Travelers will work 75% of holidays - RTO:
Up to 6 days off; must add time to end of contract if contracted hours cannot be met - Orientation: NEO; 2 days departmental

If floating mid-shift, traveler will be paid for time traveling between facilities while on the clock.
