9B Neuro Progressive Care Unit is a 19-bed unit specializing in neurological care, featuring 12 progressive care beds and 7 acute care beds. Our primary patient population includes individuals undergoing complex head and neck surgical procedures such as:

• Craniotomies for tumor resection
• Cranioplasty
• Deep brain stimulator placement for Parkinson’s disease
• Carotid endarterectomy
• Post-surgical stroke management
• Transsphenoidal tumor resections
• Seizure management
• Ventriculoperitoneal (VP) shunt placement
• Chiari malformation treatment
• Myasthenia gravis care

Nurses on 9B develop advanced critical thinking skills and thrive in a fast‑paced, high‑acuity environment. They are integral members of the interdisciplinary care team, actively contributing to patient outcomes and continuously seeking opportunities for personal and professional growth.

• Completion of an accredited or approved program in nursing
• Registered Nurse license issued by the state in which the teammate practices
• Basic Life Support (BLS) for Healthcare Providers certification issued by the American Heart Association

As a skilled and compassionate RN, you will play a pivotal role in providing and coordinating comprehensive patient care through the nursing process to deliver safe, therapeutic care in accordance with established standards, policies, and procedures.

Using evidence-based practice, clinical decision making, compassion, and skills communication while leading efforts to create the safest patient environment and the best patient experience across the continuum.
