LPN / RN—School-Based Private Duty Nurse (1:1) — Part-Time, Tue–Fri

Charlotte, NC 28227 | 2026–2027 School Year

LPN $33 / RN $39 per hour

Pay depends on your license (LPN or RN).

Tuesday – Friday, 8:00 AM – 3:00 PM

Nurses needed 2–4 days per week. Work as few as 2 days a week, or take more.

Off weekends, holidays, and every school break. No nights.

Position Overview

This is a 1:1 position: you care for one student throughout the school day. It is not a health-room school nurse role.

Same student, same school, every day you work, so you build a real working relationship with your student, their family, and the school team.

You will meet your student at school to start. Ride-along transportation may be added once school transportation is arranged. Nurses do not transport students. You are never responsible for driving a student in your own vehicle.

The Assignment

Young adult student, higher acuity. Care is guided by the student's individual care plan and includes:

  • G-tube feedings
  • Oxygen and respiratory monitoring
  • Seizure monitoring
  • Wheelchair transfers and positioning
  • Full assistance with activities of daily living (ADLs), including incontinence care
  • Supporting a student who communicates without spoken words
  • Documenting care on a tablet

This role is hands-on and physically active.
