This is a challenging and busy unit; candidates must have similar previous experience with high patient ratios and acuity. Travelers are encouraged, and first-time travelers are accepted.

The target patient ratio is 1:5-6 but may fluctuate based on unit needs, requiring nurse comfort with a maximum of 6 patients. Nurses will be required to work every other weekend, along with two Mondays and two Fridays in a six-week period. The primary patient diagnoses include stable pre and post care for cardiac procedures, stable patients with angina, low-risk chest pain evaluations, and various cardiac conditions.

The unit typically turns over 78 to 90 patients weekly; therefore, nurses should expect to manage their entire assignment multiple times a week. The unit currently houses patients with COVID-19 utilizing specific respiratory equipment. Special equipment includes telemetry and pulse oximetry.
