Job Opportunity – Pediatric Medical Surgical / Hematology Oncology Nurse – North Carolina

Start Date: October 26, 2026

Location: North Carolina

Compensation: Details provided to qualified applicants

Schedule: 12-hour day shifts (06:45 - 19:15), 36 hours per week, every other weekend required

Highlights:

• Pediatric medical surgical and hematology/oncology unit serving patients ages 0-17
• Patient ratio of 1:5-6 with a 24-patient daily census
• Contract length up to 20+ weeks through February 27, 2027 to support the unit through the holiday season
• Self-scheduling system with 24 hours of orientation provided
• EPIC charting system with PYXIS and SBAR protocols
• Float to PICU and NICU as needed; no call requirement

Requirements:

• Active RN license (North Carolina or Compact state license accepted)
• Minimum 2 years of nursing experience required
• Current BCLS (BLS) and PALS certifications required
• Chemotherapy administration experience and certification preferred
• IV start and lab draw skills preferred
• Experience with pediatric medical surgical and/or pediatric oncology populations preferred
• First-time travelers accepted if they meet the 2-year experience requirement
• Flu vaccination required (medical/religious exemptions only)
