Job SummaryThe QA/QC Commissioning Associate III assists in the quality control and quality assurance of data center critical systems in preparation for the commissioning process. The Associate supports the QA/QC Engineer in ensuring that the correct equipment has been purchased and installed in accordance with industry standards and equipment specifications. This role develops skills and industry knowledge to perform increasingly complex commissioning tasks.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities- Develop QA/QC documents for the complete project, including certificates, calibration records, test results, inspection requests, non‑compliance reports and site instructions/observations.
- Follow all standards to perform inspections and tests on all procedures, overseeing all testing methods and maintaining high quality standards.
- Review the quality of all materials on site and ensure compliance with project specifications; collaborate with the department for material procurement.
- Support the effective implementation of all test and inspection schedules and ensure adherence to all procedures; coordinate with various teams to perform quality audits on processes.
- Assist employees in understanding all quality standards and ensure compliance with quality manuals and procedures; collaborate with contractors and suppliers to maintain system quality.
- Manage lifting of all types of equipment, handle hazardous material storage, and perform quality audits per required schedule.
- Understand all products and non‑conformance processes, evaluate documents to ensure optimal quality, and prepare monthly performance reports.
- Monitor and record all project activities; analyze processes to ensure compliance with quality requirements.
- Maintain knowledge of all quality assurance standards and monitor continuous application of QA processes, recommending corrective actions.
- Support method statements for activities, including risk assessment, job safety, environmental analysis, and inspection test plans and checklists based on project specifications.
- Liaise with the Technical Engineer for submission of material submittals to the Consultant.
- Develop and maintain inspection reports.
- Ensure compliance with federal and state laws, company standards, and specifications.
- Maintain calibration of quality testing equipment.
- Perform inspections across all production stages.
- Advise on procedures to improve production efficiency.
- Prepare and maintain test data for review.
- Evaluate data and draft reports, noting deviations from existing standards.
- Identify areas for quality control improvement and implement new methods.
- Communicate quality or compliance concerns with urgency.
Education/Experience (Desired)
- Technical Military MOS, trade school, or degree.
- Experience or education in complex facilities or mission‑critical projects is preferred.
- Any civilian or military technical certifications is a plus.
- Experience writing and enforcing standard operating procedures (SOPs).
- Solid understanding of test equipment and software.
- Minimum of 5‑9 years of inspection and/or production experience.
- Strong working knowledge of mathematical concepts such as fractions, ratios, and proportions.
- Demonstrated ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
- Excellent organizational skills.
- Demonstrated ability to analyze and interpret information.
- Must be a U.S. citizen.
- Must be able to travel up to 70% of the time.
- Must live reasonably close to Charlotte, North Carolina.
- Advanced Excel skills preferred.
- Experience using Microsoft Office Suite, Word, and Microsoft Project.
- Basic knowledge of systems design for various projects.
