Open Source Enterprise Sales / Alliances (Canonical)
Canonical is a leading provider of open‑source software and operating systems to global enterprises and technology markets. We are seeking experienced sales professionals with a proven record of revenue generation in the technology industry to join our Enterprise Sales and Alliances teams. Remote opportunities are available worldwide.
Responsibilities- Develop a deep understanding of Linux, cloud software, and open‑source selling models.
- Negotiate contracts and commercial business terms.
- Build and expand strategic partnerships with hardware vendors, software vendors, solutions integrators, and distributors.
- Own the strategy and development of sales engagements.
- Increase customer awareness of Ubuntu open‑source capabilities.
- Deliver on sales targets and provide partner/customer insight.
- Travel domestically and internationally to drive partnerships in person.
- Align and support internal field teams to identify, grow, and transact business.
- Collaborate closely with marketing, sales engineering, and product management to meet objectives.
- Lead executive interlocks between partners/customers and canonical’s leadership team.
- Strong track record of exceeding revenue targets in the technology sector.
- Experience with Linux and open‑source ecosystems.
- Excellent academic background from high school or university.
- Undergraduate degree in a technical field (or compelling alternate experience).
- Confidence to speak up, exchange feedback, and share ideas.
- Leadership and commitment to mentorship and skill development.
- Passion for technology demonstrated through personal projects.
- Strong work ethic and motivation to succeed with colleagues.
- Professional written and spoken English with excellent presentation skills.
- Excellent interpersonal, curious, flexible, and accountable.
- Respect for diversity and effective in a multi‑cultural environment.
- Self‑motivated, results‑oriented mindset and high personal drive.
- Ability to travel internationally twice a year for company events and to meet clients.
