Are you a law enforcement professional with a passion for community safety and public service? Pitt Community College is seeking a Campus Police Officer to join our Police Department. Help us create a secure and supportive campus environment where students, faculty, and staff can thrive.
What You’ll DoAs a Campus Police Officer, you'll serve on the front lines of campus safety, responsible for, but not limited to:
- Enforcing all campus, county, and state laws and regulations
- Investigating incidents and detaining suspects when necessary
- Responding to emergency situations, assisting the injured, and rendering first aid
- Managing traffic flow and issuing citations
- Providing law enforcement and crowd control during major events
- Offering assistance with car lockouts, jump‑starts, escorts, and building access
- Preparing detailed incident and activity reports
- Supporting students and staff with sensitive situations such as domestic violence
- Work with external law enforcement agencies and represent PCC in legal proceedings as needed.

- Associate degree in Criminal Justice or related field
- 4–6 years of law enforcement experience OR an equivalent combination of training and experience
- Certified and qualified under NC Law Enforcement Training and Standards Commission
- Valid North Carolina driver’s license
- Proven ability to work in high-risk, high-stress environments
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Firearm proficiency and a commitment to safety and professionalism
- This role may include evenings, weekends, holidays, and response to on‑campus incidents under emergency conditions.
