Global Support and Development (GSD) is seeking to hire a Security Specialist. The position is full-time, in-person at our headquarters in Charlotte, N.C.

Essential Functions- Proven experience operating as part of a team;
- Five years or more experience operating in security analysis and planning, preferably in an international context; and
- Five years or more of relevant experience in security operations, analysis, and planning, preferably in the humanitarian sector.
- Bachelor’s degree in an international security relevant field; or
- Equivalent experience and training.
- Certified Security Risk Management Professional, Country or Region (SRMP‑C or SRMP‑R) is desired;
- Certification Protection Professional (CPP) is desired; and/or
- Certified Physical Security Professional (PSP) or Physical Security Certification (PSC) is desired.
- Ability to coordinate multiple projects simultaneously and under pressure;
- Confident and effective written and verbal communication, to include presentation ability;
- Cultural awareness and the ability to work collaboratively with a wide array of stakeholders to build relationships;
- Understanding of risk identification, evaluation, and mitigation strategies;
- Knowledge of physical security measures for tangible assets, surveillance systems, intrusion detection, and access controls;
- Familiarity with relevant local and international security laws and regulations;
- Skills in emergency response planning and execution;
- Skills in training, team management, and fostering a security‑conscious organizational culture;
- Understanding of tools and strategies for identifying and analyzing potential threats;
