The Senior Technician is a heavy equipment mechanic that specializes in the modernization and repair of cranes. The position may perform routine maintenance, troubleshooting, repairs and upgrades; as well as solve complex problems when the crane malfunctions. The Technician must be self-sufficient, lead field technicians, and serve as the liaison between HCSG management and customers. The Technician works in a safety-first environment.

HCSG is a 24/7 service company that requires technicians to be available on‑call and to provide after‑hour or weekend services as required due to customer needs.

• Must be available on‑call and provide after‑hour services as required.
• Troubleshoot, repair, inspect, and upgrade industrial hoists and cranes in the field at customer locations.
• Train and mentor field technicians.
• Perform OSHA‑required hoist and crane inspections and generate inspection reports and repair orders.
• Communicate with the Service Manager and Branch Manager during the day to schedule and complete work on a daily basis.
• Consult with customers regarding all repair and safety related issues and discuss recommendations that will assist the customer with improving their services.
• Maintain all company‑issued equipment, vehicle, and assets in a safe and proper working order.
• Operate tools, equipment, and vehicles in a safe and responsible manner. Notify immediate supervisor of any deficiencies.
• Maintain the supply of HCSG forms and miscellaneous materials in the company vehicle.
• Work with others in a team environment.
• Attend company‑provided trainings and seminars as required.
• Participate in HCSG 5‑Marks program.
• Other duties as assigned.

The work is labor intensive. Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs on a daily basis and up to 100 lbs on a rare basis. Requires 90% of frequent climbing, balancing, stooping/crouching, overhead reaching, bending, squatting and prolonged standing and sitting. Occasional pushing, pulling, kneeling, and crawling. Requires great hand and eye coordination. Heights exceeding 50 feet from time to time are normal.

Travel may be required 20‑50% of the time. Must be willing to work various shifts, including on‑call and overtime.

Work is normally performed inside or outside with varying degrees of extreme hot and cold temperatures depending on the weather. During summer months, temperatures can exceed 120°F. Position will be frequently exposed to noise, heights, fumes, dust, and odors.

• At least 5‑7 years of crane repair & maintenance experience.
• At least 3‑4 years of electrical and/or mechanical experience in lieu of crane repair & maintenance experience.
• Must have a valid driver’s license and an acceptable driving record.
• Must always commit to working and driving safely.
• Must be willing to work off the ground at various heights.
• Must have basic computer skills to work with web‑based crane inspection programs.
• Must be able to communicate well with others and work independently or as a team.
• Knowledge of hand tools and/or possess hand tools.

• Vocational/Technical training certificate.

Must pass a pre‑employment drug test and background check (DISA) and submit to random and annual drug testing as required.
