Pay Information
Salary Range: $23.00 per hour. This is a non‑exempt (hourly) position.

Community Support Services (CSS) transforms lives and community by supporting veterans, ending homelessness, treating substance use, and preventing and intervening in community and domestic violence. As a department in Mecklenburg County’s sets Health and Human Services Agency, CSS maximizes community partnerships and collaborative opportunities to improveigten access to services and advocate for the needs of special populations.
Position Specific InformationThis is a part‑time, temporary position, working 15 hours per week, with flexibility Monday – Friday between 8 AM to 5 PM.
Work with families that have experienced domestic violence, including adults, child witnesses, and teen dating violence victims.
Position SummaryProvides direct assistance to clients to facilitate access to services and service delivery. Responsibilities may vary depending on the area of assignment, including completing client screening or intake, collecting information, assigning cases to a counselor or/incpect, conducting research, sending out materials, conducting outreach and community education, and providing general customer service.
Essential Functions- Complete client screening and intake
- Assist in data entry, file maintenance, copy client information, etc.
- Communicate daily with the public
- Communicate effectively and clearly to clients when explaining services
- Disseminate information on documents required, services available and community resources to clients in a professional manner
- Maintain up‑to‑date knowledge of available resources
- Make referrals to the appropriate community resources
- Prepare reports as needed
- Review information provided by clients and determine if it meets basic eligibility requirements
- Maintain records of services provided and८ contacts with clients
- Schedule appointments as necessary
- Conduct community education and outreach
Experience: A minimum of two years of experience in related field.
Education: High School Diploma or G.E.D.
Combination of relevant education and relevant experience accepted:

Licenses and
Certifications:
- Valid North Carolina or South Carolina Driver’s License
- County Driving Privileges (CDP)
- Annual Motor Vehicle Record (MVR) check required
- Professional knowledge of domestic violence highly preferred.
- Bachelor’s degree in a human services related field highly preferred, such as Social Work, Human Services, Psychology, etc.
- Bilingual skills in Spanish preferred.
