Location:

Charlotte, NC - (3 days onsite, 2 Remote)
Our client's organization serves as an internal technology shared services team supporting multiple business units across the bank. The team manages a large portfolio of initiatives including new application development, modernization efforts, automation projects, platform enhancements, and internal technology consulting.

We are seeking a Technical Delivery Lead to serve as a key partner to engineering leadership, helping evaluate incoming work requests, prioritize initiatives, drive execution, and support technical decision-making across a portfolio of Java-based applications.

This role is ideal for a former Java developer or technical lead who enjoys working closely with engineers, solving technical challenges, managing competing priorities, and ensuring successful delivery of complex projects. While hands-on coding is not the primary focus, the ability to understand architecture, review code, and participate in technical discussions is essential.

Responsibilities Partner with engineering leadership to evaluate and prioritize incoming project requests and enhancement opportunities.

Assess technical requirements and help determine the appropriate solution approach for new initiatives.

Collaborate with developers, stakeholders, and product teams to define project scope, timelines, and execution strategies.

Drive delivery across multiple concurrent initiatives while managing dependencies, risks, and competing priorities.

Facilitate technical discussions and provide guidance throughout the software development lifecycle.

Identify and remove blockers impacting engineering teams and project delivery.

Work closely with development teams to support API integrations, application enhancements, and modernization initiatives.

Participate in roadmap planning and capacity discussions for the Java engineering team.

Review technical solutions and help ensure alignment with engineering best practices.

Monitor project progress and communicate status, risks, and priorities to stakeholders.

Support CI/CD and deployment processes in partnership with development and Dev Ops teams.

Contribute to continuous improvement efforts related to engineering processes, delivery practices, and team effectiveness.

Required Qualifications 7+ years of software engineering, technical leadership, or application delivery experience.

Strong background in Java application development.

Experience with Spring Boot and enterprise application development.

Hands-on experience working with REST APIs and system integrations.

Strong understanding of SQL and relational database concepts.

Experience leading technical projects or serving as a technical lead on cross-functional initiatives.

Ability to read, review, and discuss code with development teams.

Experience managing multiple projects, priorities, and stakeholder requests simultaneously.

Strong problem-solving, communication, and organizational skills.

Experience working within Agile development environments.

Preferred Qualifications Angular experience.

Experience with PostgreSQL and MySQL.Exposure to CI/CD pipelines and Dev Ops practices.

Experience supporting application modernization initiatives.

Understanding of cloud-based technologies and Azure services.

Familiarity with event-driven architectures and distributed systems.

Financial services or banking industry experience.

Previous experience serving as a Senior Developer, Lead Developer, Technical Lead, or Engineering Lead.
