Position Summary
As an Aircraft Dispatcher, you will collaborate with our Pilots to ensure safe and reliable flight operations, impacting PSA’s on-time departures and flight completion.
Job Responsibilities
Weather Forecasting
- Preparation of the Dispatch Release considering weather planning, fuel planning, aircraft airworthiness, and routing strategy.
- Maintain flight and weather records in accordance with Federal Air regulations.
Flight Following
- Monitor the progress of flights and provide necessary information for safety.
- Assist crews and outstations in planning and expediting each flight.
Compliance Monitoring
- Remain aware of passenger loads and service when flight planning.
- Coordinate flight activities with various agencies and personnel.
- Respond to accidents/incidents by initiating notification and documentation.
- Assist in maintaining the Flight Control Center.
- Responsible for the Company's Security and Safety Management System (SMS).
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
Required
- High school diploma or equivalent
- FAA Dispatch License
- Must be able to speak, read and write in English
- Must be authorized to work in the US.
Preferred
- Up to one year of previous Aviation experience
Additional Information
Work Environment: Operational Control Center is open from 5 a.m. to 12 a.m., 7 days a week. Dispatchers must be willing to work holidays, weekends, and evenings.
Physical Demands: This role is largely sedentary; however, the employee is frequently required to stand, walk, climb stairs, lift weights up to 25 lbs, and reach with hands and arms.
