Senior Cost Accountant

Position Summary:

We are seeking a detail-oriented Cost Accountant to oversee and enhance our inventory accounting processes across the company. This role will collaborate cross-functionally to develop and improve costing workflows, ensuring accuracy in reporting and supporting business decisions that drive profitability.

Key Responsibilities:

• Lead all cost accounting functions, including development and continuous improvement of standard costing practices.
• Execute month-end, quarter-end, and year-end closing tasks, ensuring accuracy and completeness of cost-related entries.
• Analyze actual profit margins and identify cost-saving opportunities to improve company profitability.
• Facilitate monthly cycle counts and report inventory variances.
• Collaborate with Sales, Marketing, R&D, and Operations to cost new items.
• Support cross-functional teams with accounting input on key projects and initiatives.
• Maintain and update fixed asset listings and depreciation schedules.
• Provide analytical support for budgeting and forecasting processes.
• Participate in Continuous Improvement (CI) initiatives to enhance operational efficiency.

Qualifications & Skills

Education Required: Bachelor’s in Accounting or Finance preferred.

Experience

Required:

1-3 years Cost Accounting experience within a manufacturing environment.

• Specific knowledge of cost accounting and Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) required.
• Proficiency with ERP systems required.
• Strong written and oral communication skills.
• Ability to meet deadlines with little supervision.
• Process improvement minded.
• Ability to manage confidential information.
