Caton Construction Group, part of The Caton Companies, is seeking a Project Manager for multiple projects in Virginia and North Carolina.

We are looking for a seasoned, career-minded Heavy Civil Project Manager to join our dynamic management team. The ideal candidate will be a team player, highly motivated, dependable, self-driven, and passionate about delivering excellence in heavy highway construction projects. Strong interpersonal and communication skills are essential.

Key Responsibilities
  • Plan and manage civil construction projects according to standards and requirements
  • Oversee project budgets, margins, and financial projections to ensure profitability
  • Develop and update project schedules regularly
  • Maintain quality control, ensuring compliance with designs, standards, and specifications
  • Ensure safety policies are followed, fostering a safety-first culture
  • Manage project documentation and prepare reports for management
  • Coordinate with field management to resolve issues and ensure project success
  • Approve changes in equipment and personnel, and manage subcontractors
  • Organize project staffing, assign roles, and conduct weekly meetings
  • Monitor financial performance and submit payment requisitions
  • Understand contract terms, project milestones, and delays
Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or related field
  • Minimum 5 years of experience in civil heavy/highway projects
  • Proficiency with Heavy Job, Blue Beam, P6 software is a plus
Travel Requirements

Local travel during business hours, with some out-of-area and overnight travel. Valid driver’s license required.
