Freelance Construction / Remodeling Estimator

Peter Johnson Builders is a company focused on high end, architecturally-designed custom homes and remodels, and we are looking for a talented and motivated Estimator to oversee and control the pre construction process.

This is a support position where the candidate will have the opportunity to take part in every aspect of the pre construction process. The candidate will take a construction project from concept to contract.

This is a remote position. Candidates must be available to work 8 am - 5 pm, Mon.

- Fri. EST.

Qualified candidates must submit a sample take off for a residential construction project along with your resume to be considered.

Responsibilities:

• Read and understand design documents including blueprints, specifications, and project manuals.
• Contribute to cost estimates and bid solicitations by performing quantity takeoffs.
• Manage proposals in coordination with Business Development.
• Contribute to cost estimates utilizing trade partner budgets and quotes, as well as unit pricing.
• Complete detailed material take offs across all areas of construction.

Qualifications:

• Working knowledge of Bluebeam, Excel Google Docs
• Bachelor's Degree in construction, engineering, architecture, accounting, business preferred
• 5 years of experience as an estimator or Project manager in the residential sector.
• Experience with Bluebeam a must
