Traveling Superintendent – Landmark Construction
Landmark Construction, an in‑house general contractor for Landmark Properties, seeks experienced Traveling Superintendents to lead and manage field operations on residential and mixed‑use projects.
ReportingReports to the Director of Field Operations. Direct reports include the Field Engineer, Assistant Superintendent, and two levels of Superintendents.
Duties & Responsibilities- Attend pre‑construction meetings to develop transition plans between estimating and project management.
- Interpret and enforce all contract documents, addenda, plans, and specifications.
- Oversee all field operations including permits, risk management, scheduling, cost control, issue resolution, meetings, reporting, document control, site logistics, RFI, safety, quality, field support, commissioning, punch list, and owner closeout.
- Assist the Project Management team with program planning, procurement of temporary construction services, material and equipment scheduling, budget forecasting, and obtaining necessary easements and access agreements.
- Monitor labor, equipment, and material usage to stay within approved budgets.
- Provide timely notices regarding weather, impacts, and delays.
- Develop direct reports through performance monitoring, evaluations, varied assignments, mentoring, and promoting positive morale.
- Attend all required meetings.
- Minimum of 10 years’ experience in residential and mixed‑use construction.
- Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Engineering, Building Science, Architecture, Business Administration, or a related major is preferred.
- Proficiency in scheduling and job cost software (e.g., P6/Primavera, Microsoft Project, Procore, Prolog).
- Minimum five years of direct supervisory experience.
- Read and interpret blueprints, drawings, plans, and financial reports.
- Strong analytical and problem‑solving skills.
- Prioritize work, maintain accuracy, and meet deadlines.
- Excellent organizational skills with attention to detail.
- Capable of leading, training, and encouraging a team of project management professionals.
- Positive, collaborative attitude with strong interpersonal skills.
- Work environment is typically moderate noise levels; reasonable accommodations available.
- Travel required:
embedded on site and in temporary construction trailers/offices; overnight travel may be necessary.
- Frequent standing, walking, sitting, hand use, reaching, climbing, stooping, kneeling, crouching, or crawling; ability to speak and hear is required.
