Lifetime Physical Activity (LPA) Instructor (Faculty Wage)

The School of Education and Human Development at the University of Virginia (UVA) seeks applicants to teach one-credit academic courses in the Lifetime Physical Activity (LPA) program in the Department of Kinesiology for the Spring 2026 semester. These courses are primarily scheduled during the day in alignment with UVA’s academic schedule and are not group fitness classes but rather academic courses aimed at providing undergraduate students with a progression of knowledge and skills to support life-long movement.

• Weight Training (multiple sessions)
• Women's Fitness (weight training) – MWF 8:00–8:50 a.m.
• Women's Basketball – T/Th 12:30–1:45 p.m.
• Yoga – T/Th 8:00–9:15 a.m.

• Preference will be given to full-time enrolled UVA graduate or doctoral students; however, applicants who are fully qualified will also be considered.
• Valid CPR and First Aid certification is strongly preferred. Some classes will require the instructor to hold a certification in the relevant physical activity discipline.
• Background check and education verification will be required prior to employment.
