Job Description & How to Apply Below
Position: Lecturer/Adjunct Faculty, School of Law (2025 - 2026 academic year) (Faculty Wage)

The University of Virginia School of Law seeks applications to fill one or more lecturer/adjunct faculty positions for the 2025-26 academic year. The University of Virginia School of Law is consistently recognized as one of the top law schools in the country, with a dynamic and diverse faculty who excel in teaching, scholarship, and service (see more here). Students routinely rank the Law School’s faculty as best in the nation compared to all other law schools in the country.

The environment at the Law School is both active and supportive, with a strong sense of collegiality among students, faculty, and staff and a commitment to excellence and service.

These lecturer/adjunct faculty positions are part-time, non-tenure-track, and without benefits (“faculty wage”), and they typically involve teaching one upper-level elective course during the fall or spring semester of the academic year. Adjunct faculty generally teach courses that are not regularly taught by the Law School’s resident faculty. For a list of recently taught courses, see the Law School web site (here).

A J.D. from an ABA-accredited law school, or an equivalent degree from a non-U.S. law school, is strongly preferred. Candidates will be evaluated based on years and level of experience, subject-area needs, and commitment to teaching.

To apply, please submit an application online at (Use the "Apply for this Job" box below). and attach a cover letter that includes the course(s) you propose teaching, a current CV, and contact information for three references. If you are proposing a new course, please also submit an on-line new course proposal form. Search for requisition number R0070846.

For questions about the positions contact Associate Dean for Curricular Programs Quinn Curtis at curriculumdeanginia.edu.

The University will perform background checks on all new hires prior to employment.
