Senior Aerospace Modeling and Simulation Engineer

Leidos Dynetics is seeking a motivated, detail‑oriented problem‑solver to join our modeling and simulation team.

• Develop, integrate, and test models of aerospace systems based on provided information, research, and engineering principles.
• Guide and mentor a team of engineers in the development of representative flight models.
• Document model performance against requirements.
• Document algorithm design.
• Work collaboratively with an engineering team comprised of internal and external team members.
• Interact with external stakeholders to define requirements and perform model demonstrations.
• Candidate must be local to or willing to relocate to the Charlottesville, VA area.

• Candidate must possess a Bachelor's Degree in Aerospace Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or equivalent degree from an ABET‑accredited university with 8+ years applicable experience (or M.S. with 6+ years).
• Experience with 3
  
  DOF/6
  
  DOF flight models.
• Experience with ballistic missiles, air‑launched missiles, or hypersonic vehicles.
• Experience in MATLAB/Simulink.
• Experience in C++ or Python.
• Experience leading a team to meet customer requirements.
• Detailed understanding of the systems engineering process.
• Demonstrates solid understanding and intuition of the functionality and interdependency of aerospace systems.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills and attention to detail to communicate clearly with internal and external stakeholders.
• Organizational skills to document work and interface with team members to ensure flow of information.
• Candidate must be a U.S. Citizen and possess (and be able to maintain) a Secret Clearance.
• Candidate must meet the eligibility to obtain (and maintain) a Top Secret Clearance.

• Experience with configuration management tools such as SVN and Git.
• Experience integrating and testing GNC algorithms.
• Experience in ITASE or AFSIM.
• Experience leading Modeling and Simulation teams.
