Sr Financial Analyst

Overview

The Sr Financial Analyst is a financial accounting generalist position that requires heavy experience in the multi facets of finance and accounting as it relates to health care operations and financial accounting. This role will focus on fixed asset accounting and some other general accounting areas. Seeking a candidate with strong analytical skills, solid knowledge of internal controls, process improvement mindset, and advanced excel skills.

Provides a data source and interface between the traditional back-office Finance/IT areas and the departments as related to operations and back office financial accounting.

• Manage projects or processes, coach, review, and delegate work to lower-level professionals.
• Business Process Planning related to Patient Financial Services and Back-Office Accounting Business process development.
• Develop financial and internal control process plans and documents as related to the Controller’s Office and Patient Financial Services.
• Resource for the Controller’s Office and Patient Financial Services in development of business processes including documentation of procedures; internal control review, documentation and compliance with ARMICS; analysis of current operational processes; collaboration with revenue cycle; reimbursement; and cost accounting elements.
• Assist in communications about process development, status and implementation to assure clear understanding.
• Assure complete preparation for process implementation of procedures within the Controller’s Office, Cashiering and Patient Financial Services functions and associated information systems.
• Decision Support and Financial Accounting Data Management – working knowledge of Hyperion and People Soft to analyze, create and interpret data and related financial reports; complete ad hoc analytical reports.
• Tailor data queries to obtain information appropriate to specific issue/concern; formulate analysis to reflect accurately the information available; utilize standard reporting formats or customize reports for specific purpose.
• Examine processes for elimination, consolidation, improvement, or other changes that will enhance financial performance, internal controls, and analytics.
• Budgeting Support – assist Administrators in development of operating and capital budgets; design of budget process and tools; assessment of budget processes for improvement.
• Prepare capital budget requests for submission to Capital Approval Committee.
• Operating Performance Measures/Analysis – develop systematic review of internal financial accounting and performance reports; perform necessary General Ledger account reconciliations; research and documentation on variance analysis.
• Lead the Controller’s Office and Decision Support in continuing analysis of existing reports, their possible improvements and benefits; account maintenance to assure accurate capture and reporting of cost and revenue data; trend performance analysis; develop year end projection from most recent data available; examine and assess opportunities to have cost savings for Medical Supplies and Purchased Services.
• Develop and document workflow processes between Patient Friendly Billing, Cashiering, and Cash Posting to ensure daily and monthly reconciliation, segregation of duties, and reasonable internal controls; interface with external vendors managing accounts receivable outside EPIC.

• Bachelor’s Degree required.
• 7 years relevant experience.
• CPA preferred.

This is primarily a sedentary job involving extensive use of desktop computers. The job occasionally requires traveling some distance to attend meetings.

Position Compensation Range: $62,691.00 – $ Annual.
