Join a talented group of more than 80 Morrison Healthcare dietitians at the University of Virginia Health System in beautiful Charlottesville, Virginia. At this level one trauma center, dietitians play an integral role on multidisciplinary teams in many specialty areas, both in the 675-bed inpatient setting, as well as in over 35 outpatient clinics. RDs participate in research and quality improvement projects, host dietetic interns, and are supported in pursuing leadership and community service experiences.
Continuing education opportunities are plentiful from within the accomplished nutrition team and from the health system, which values ongoing training and education.
This part-time 24 hr/week position will provide high-quality, evidence-based nutrition services to University of Virginia students. The role is in-person (M, Tu, Th), based in the Medical Services clinic within the state-of-the-art Student Health and Wellness (SHW) building, which opened in Fall 2021.
The position will primarily consist of one‑on‑one outpatient care for a diverse university student population. This role will work with a wide range of nutrition concerns and collaborate with another part‑time RD specializing in eating disorders.
This position is ideal for an experienced Registered Dietitian with a strong clinical background who embraces a weight‑inclusive, non‑diet approach. While working on‑site at SHW, the RD will operate with a high degree of independence alongside the medical team and will also be part of the broader UVA Health RD team, providing access to a strong professional network, collaboration opportunities, and ongoing support for professional growth.
