2nd Shift
Under the supervision of the Faculty Advisor and the Laboratory Manager, the Section Leader is responsible for planning, maintaining, and monitoring all functions within a defined scope of testing within the department, including ensuring compliance with standards set by CAP, TJC, CMS, and AABB.
- Maintains procedures and equipment for specified area of departmental testing.
- Ensures compliance with all standards set by relevant accrediting agencies.
- Ensures appropriate instrument/equipment quality control, performance, and maintenance.
- Manages inventories and uses supplies and reagents effectively.
- Performs laboratory procedures.
- Other duties may be assigned as needed.
Position Compensation Range: $31.35 - $50.16 Hourly
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTSClinical Laboratory Scientist
Education:
Bachelor’s Degree with completion of a NAACLS-approved MLS/CLS program, or a Bachelor’s in Biology, Chemistry, or related science, or an Associate Degree in Medical Laboratory Technology from a NAACLS-approved MLT program, or an Associate Degree or 60 semester hours with 6 hours in Chemistry and 6 hours in Biology plus accredited MLT training.
Experience:
3 years relevant experience.
License/Certification: MLT, MT, or categorical ASCP, or equivalent.
Histotechnologist/Histotechnician
Education:
Bachelor’s Degree or High School/High School Equivalency in compliance with CLIA.
Experience:
3 years relevant experience for Bachelor’s degree, or 5 years for HS diploma.
License/Certification: HT or HTL, ASCP, or equivalent preferred.
OTHER
SKILLS:
Experience in a defined scope of testing.
Requires sitting, prolonged standing, frequent walking, bending/stooping, reaching (overhead, extensive, repetitive). Repetitive motion from computer use. Proficient communication, auditory, and visual skills. Attention to detail and legible writing. Ability to lift/push/pull 20-50 lbs. May be exposed to fumes, chemicals, noise, radiation (limited areas), blood, body fluids, and infectious diseases.
