IT Support, Technical Support
The Technology Assistant will serve as a member of the UVA Career Center's Technology Team and will assist in the maintenance of the IT infrastructure within the Career Center, including PCs, laptops, tablets, printers, copiers, and associated peripheral devices. This position will also assist with supporting the staff of the Career Center in leveraging technology to deliver programs, content, and advising to the University of Virginia student population.
This position will also assist with technological (computing and audio visual) support for programming functions of the Career Center and participate in special projects (data or programming) as needed.

Duties- Assist in imaging and deploying computers
- Assist with end user support, including basic troubleshooting and problem solving
- Setup and takedown of technology events outside traditional business hours
- Assist with inventorying of Career Center technological assets
- Participate in technical projects as needed pertaining but not limited to the following software and coding languages:
- Windows Group Policy
- Print Server Management
- Drupal CMS
- Jamf – Apple Device Management
- React / Typescript
- Current UVA Undergraduate student eligible for student employment
- Federal Work Study Eligibility preferred
- A+ Certification or prior work experience in Computer Support
- Currently seeking degree in Computer Science or Computer Engineering (can be waived for candidate with sufficient background in field)
- Working proficiency in several programming languages
- Demonstrated proficiency in critical thinking/problem solving
- Strong background in Customer Service
Students enrolled for the spring semester only should begin work no earlier than January 12, 2026, and end no later than May 8, 2026.
Position is up to 20 hours per week, flexible with class schedule.
Pay is $16.00 an hour.

Physical Demands:
This is primarily a sedentary job involving extensive use of desktop computers. The job does occasionally require traveling some distance to attend meetings, and programs.
