Custodial Supervisor (3:30 PM – 12 AM)

We are looking for a Custodial Supervisor to lead a dynamic team of frontline custodial staff in maintaining cleanliness, safety, and welcoming environments across our academic facilities.

Shift: 3:30 PM – 12 AM

As the Custodial Supervisor, you will provide leadership, training, and scheduling for the custodial team while ensuring all buildings meet the highest standards of cleanliness and safety. Your role involves collaborating across campus, coordinating with maintenance leadership, and fostering professional growth within the workforce.

• Lead, mentor, and inspire the custodial team through effective supervision, coaching, and performance management.
• Oversee scheduling and execution of routine and special custodial tasks, ensuring operations are safe, efficient, and meet quality standards.
• Collaborate closely with maintenance leadership to coordinate activities and ensure a seamless operational environment.
• Lead training initiatives to ensure team proficiency in the latest custodial techniques and safety protocols.
• Maintain positive relationships with all stakeholders, including facility occupants, staff, students, visitors, and leadership.
• Manage small to medium-sized custodial projects—ensuring timely, on‑scope, budget‑compliant completion.

• Develop and implement custodial work schedules for assigned areas.
• Supervise team members and provide constructive feedback.
• Ensure completion of all required custodial projects in a timely, professional manner.
• Track purchases and update inventories.
• Conduct and submit routine safety and cleanliness inspections.
• Work independently, proactively manage workload, and anticipate operational and small‑scale projects.
• Utilize computer systems such as Workday, AiM, and Outlook.

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Minimum of two years in a service industry, preferably custodial or housekeeping; experience in leadership or supervisory capacity is a plus.
• Valid driver’s license with zero or positive points and at least 2 years of driving experience.

Salary: $24.50 – $26.50 per hour (dependent on qualifications and experience) plus $2 per hour for evening shift differential.

Sign‑on bonus: $2,000 for all new hires.

Benefits: Non‑exempt, benefited position. Background checks will be conducted prior to employment. This position is based fully on‑site in Charlottesville.
